Hi I'm Ronan Schwickerath with Ronan Industries, Inc. in Waterloo Iowa. I have been using the DuraFon 4X with 4 phones for over a year now and we couldn't live without it.

We own a packaging, storage and logistical company. We use the phone not only to take calls but to transfer calls to the different dept. so people can deal directly with the source. The phones are very durable as we have people on an off lift trucks and working around a sawmill all day. The phones with the long-range antennas can almost reach up to 3/4 of a mile. We use these in our main plant, which is over 6 acres and 32,000 sq/ft with 4 walls separating 4 different rooms, and we have no trouble communicating from the office to the farthest room. These phones save our worker from coming up to the office every time they have a question and sometimes they forget it by the time they would get there. So the question asked is given an answer within minutes.

I would suggest to anyone with several employees, and a lot of square footage, to give this a try over the expensive landline systems, which are not able to be portable and save yourself a callback from an important customer looking for the answer right away.

I have installed over 20,000 business telephone systems during my over 35 + years of being in the INTERCONNECT industry...

I just recently was given the challenge to design and install a paging system for the AULD Golf Course recently renamed to the SALT CREEK Golf Club in Chula Vista, CA.

The new owners needed a "step up " in managing their starting booth and in communicating to their driving range, putting pavilion and cart tournament staging area.

The primary criteria was to be able to page to all of these areas  ( 3 individual areas with all page )  and to be Mobile...  The DURAFON 1X  was the only answer that made any PHYSICAL, FUNCTION AND FINANCIAL (what we call the 3 F's) sense.

The base station was installed in the Pro Shop storage area...  about 6 feet up the wall.. and hardwired to an analog extension number in the Panasonic system.

To manage the different paging areas we turned to Valcom for a simple dial in ( dial 1 for area 1 and 2 for area 2 and etc. ) splitter.

Not only does the DuraFon 1X cover the entire golf course...  drove it myself... but it works much better and the handset is much stronger than a typical wireless mic., and this system cost about 25% LESS than the competitors and their solution got about 100 feet range.

I would guess the DuraFon covers at least 1/2 to 1 mile as the crow flies, with the extended outdoor antenna, we might be able to get into Mexico.

PLUS they are talking about adding more handsets to the system for INTERNAL handset to handset conversations thus saving the monies they spend per month on renting radio sets..

PLUS  since the system works of the Panasonic system... anyone can call them .. They can call another telephone and for some.. they can actually dial "9" and access an outside line...
