EnGenius Technologies collaborates with large medical group for powerful impact to patient communication and care with their long-range DuraFon cordless telephone.
COSTA MESA, CA—August 10, 2010— EnGenius Technologies, Inc. has collaborated with a multi-specialty group of doctors at DuPage Medical Group (DMG) to provide long-range wireless telecom solutions for improved patient communication and care. Approximately 100 DuraFon cordless phones and 35 base units were installed to meet the doctor and patient needs.
In today's medical field, effective communication between doctor and patient is a key factor in providing excellent care. When DMG re-opened their clinic in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, they were faced with the challenge of providing interpreter services to their non-English speaking patients. Since the interpreters were available only by phone, the phone system used had to make the communication process as effortless and seamless as possible.
At first, the solution seemed simple; place a phone system in each of the examination rooms. But with over 90,000 square feet to cover, this would not be an easy task. "We looked into traditional phone systems; they were simply too costly and couldn't get the job done right," said Robert Pionke, Telecom Systems Specialist at DuPage Medical Group. "That's when we discovered EnGenius and their line of DuraFon cordless phones. This was the solution we were looking for. They offer incredible flexibility; no matter where they are, they work."

Today DMG has 42 locations in DuPage, Will and Kane Counties in Illinois, offering a wide variety of specialties, from pediatrics to orthopedics, and they are employing DuraFon systems in over half of these clinics.
