Elite Custom Technology has Chosen the EOC-2610

Elite Custom Technology has chosen Engenius Technologies’ outdoor high-powered wireless access point, EOC-2610, to build efficient wireless networks for their customers with challenging environments.

Elite Custom Technology, based in Lincoln Nebraska, is a designer and installer of customized technology systems for the home and office.   They were recently presented with a difficult project from the owners of a John Deere retail facility whose wireless network was inadequate to meet their everyday needs.   The large, sprawling facility is surrounded by metal and other materials that disrupt wireless network signals going to and from the associates PDAs, computers, the wireless router and other media devices.    

After much research, Elite chose to reconfigure the John Deere wireless network using EnGenius Technologies’ high-powered outdoor wireless access point, the EOC-2610, which operates at 600MW of wifi power.   This technology offers their client a consistently strong signal across their expansive environment, allowing their associates to communicate wirelessly from both inside and outside the warehouse buildings.  

EnGenius technologies, an award-winning manufacturer of long-range wireless routers, designed the EOC-2610 for use in outdoor recreational facilities, such as Marinas, resorts, golf courses and college campus.   The powerful wireless network technology is encased in a rugged compact box to protect it from weather extremes, and in this specific case, workshop debris.

“As the installer and designer, we have to consider the practicality of installing any device within any environment.   The EOC-2610 has two features which made our job easier - the signal strength indicator and the PoE (power over Ethernet) feature.   The EOC-2610’s indicator light showed us where it needed to be installed to optimize its wireless signal strength.   And, once we found the ideal spot, we did not have to rewire electrical to get power to the EOC-2610. The power came from the RJ45 data cable,” explains Nick Hitz, Owner of Elite Custom Technology.

Currently, Engenius’ EOC-2610 is being used in several John Deere locations throughout Nebraska. “Since Elite installed the EOC-2610, our employees have been more efficient and effective in servicing our customers. We don’t have to worry about down time due to our wireless network’s inability to communicate data,” states Jeremy J. Verana, service manager of the Wahoo John Deere authorized dealer.   Over the next year, Elite and participating John Deere locations will continue to upgrade their wireless networks using this proven technology.
