The ENH700EXT is a high-powered, long-range Dual Band Wireless N600 Outdoor Access Point with speeds up to 300Mbps on both its high-powered 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios. Encased in a rugged IP68-rated waterproof enclosure this versatile Outdoor Access Point can be configured in a number of modes and its dual band architecture enables network administrators to even select different operating modes per frequency band. For example, when several ENH700EXTs are deployed in a campus setting the 5 GHz band can be configured as a backhaul connecting several ENH700EXT units back to a central ENH700EXT. Thus, while several 2.4 GHz wireless cells are created to provide coverage for laptop computers or mobile devices like tablets and smartphones in common outdoor areas, they all link back to the main network via 5 GHz. So, whether your business needs just one ENH700EXT or a dozen to expand your network for your campus and offer connectivity to your Internet connection and other networked resources, the ENH700EXT is a great place to start.

Overview

The ENH700EXT can be configured in a number of different modes giving VARs, system integrators, IT managers, and installers the ability to configure the device for discrete functionality based on their unique network topology or scalable needs. With two onboard radios, each can be configured into different operation modes independently, thus the ENH700EXT adds an additional layer of flexibility that single-band Access Points do not offer.

In Access Point mode, the ENH700EXT expands the overall bandwidth of an outdoor Wi-Fi solution and users who wish to stream video or transfer large files now have the option to associate to any one of the AP’s up to eight configurable 5GHz SSIDs (Service Set Identifiers) – particularly useful in areas where there may be a preponderance of competing and overlapping 2.4GHz signals from Access Points and devices not affiliated with the company’s network.

EnGenius’ EZ Controller Access Point Management Software is included with the ENH700EXT so even units that have already been deployed on rooftops or other difficult-to-access locations and other EnGenius APs or Client Bridges in the network can be reconfigured to a different operational mode or upgraded remotely without having to manually reconnect to them or re-install them on site. EZ Controller gives a VAR, system integrator or network administrator the tools to remotely monitor network traffic by Access Point or Bridge, optimize network performance and address any unanticipated downtime from the comfort of their office and thus diminish or in most cases eliminate the need to physically maintain or reconfigure devices at their specific locations. Like other EnGenius business-class networking products, the ENH700EXT provides state-of-the-art, wireless network encryption and authentication standards including WPA, WPA2, TKIP/AES and IEEE 802.1x RADIUS Authentication. Network administrators can also configure an additional layer of security by tagging each of the ENH700EXT’s SSIDs to a company’s established VLANs. This added feature helps to ensure that only users in specific VLANs are accessing information they have been authorized to access even when they work outside the building or from another building on the corporate campus that has been bridged to a main office via one or more ENH700EXT units. These settings are available upon initial installation with the device’s browser-based Graphical User Interface and through EZ Controller.

The ENH700EXT’s internal electronics have been mounted in an IP68-rated enclosure, one of the highest waterproof and dustproof ratings available, that is designed to withstand extremely harsh environmental conditions including severe and prolonged exposure to sunlight, extreme cold, frost, snow, rainfall, hail and humidity. The housing of the Access Point also has been manufactured to repel ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. These protective measures make the ENH700EXT an ideal outdoor wireless solution for virtually any locale or any venue including ski resorts, beach resorts, college and corporate campuses and businesses located in snowy, rainy or sunny and arid climates.
