EPC is an on-premises management platform for EnGenius networking solutions, combining the security of local deployment with the flexibility of cloud-like features. Unlike fully cloud-based solutions, EPC keeps sensitive data within your organization while delivering powerful, advanced network management capabilities.
Key benefits include:
– On-premises data control for enhanced security and privacy
– Scalable architecture supporting up to 3,000 devices per server
– Multi-tenancy support for managing multiple clients or departments
– Seamless integration with EnGenius Cloud
– Flexible licensing options to fit different deployment needs
– Optional secure remote access for added convenience.
EPC provides essential features at no cost for local network management. Advanced capabilities—such as remote management, expanded deployments, and enhanced functionality—require additional licenses.
The EPC licensing structure includes:
– Basic (Free) for core local management
– Connect License for EnGenius Cloud integration and remote management
– AP Pro License for advanced AP features
– Switch Pro License for advanced Switch features
Current Support:
– Access Points: ECW & Fit Series
– Switches: ECS & Fit Series
Future Support:
– Switch Extenders: EXT Series
Hardware requirements vary based on the number of devices being managed:
– Up to 100 devices: 1-core CPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB storage
– Up to 3,000 devices: 8-core CPU, 32 GB RAM, 30 GB storage
EPC runs on Linux-based operating systems, with Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Server or Debian 10.6 recommended.
Yes. EPC can be deployed on virtual machines hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP. However, some mail servers may block SMTP messages originating from public cloud platforms. In such cases, additional mail server rules or configurations may be required to ensure EPC system emails are delivered successfully. Alternatively, using the email service provided by your cloud provider may help avoid these limitations.
Advanced features—such as Device Pro capabilities and EPC High Availability (HA) or backup—require additional licenses. EPC uses EnGenius Cloud to manage and assign these advanced licenses. To register EPC with EnGenius Cloud and receive license assignments, an EPC Connect License is required.
EPC’s on-premises deployment keeps sensitive data within your organization while providing strong security controls. It includes role-based access control, encrypted communications, and detailed audit logs. Integration with external systems is optional, allowing you to maintain full control over your data at all times.
Yes. EPC can manage networks across multiple locations. The FitRegister service—enabled with the Connect License—is a cloud-based service that bridges internet-deployed devices with EPC, allowing centrally managed control of devices located anywhere with an internet connection.
EPC supports unlimited organizations and up to 3,000 devices per server. For larger deployments, additional EPC servers can be deployed to scale as needed. Its multi-tenancy capabilities enable efficient management of expanding networks and multiple clients with ease.
Unlike EnGenius Cloud, EPC supports multiple management platforms within the same network. The pairing process ensures each device is securely associated with the intended EPC controller, preventing conflicts and mismanagement in environments with multiple management systems.
When an EPC license expires, devices will continue operating with their last applied configurations. However, new configuration changes will not take effect, and EPC will stop collecting data from devices without valid licenses.
To restore device management, you can either renew the appropriate license or switch the organization’s feature plan back to Basic, which disables advanced features but restores core management functionality.
For EPC platform–level advanced features, those functions will stop working once the corresponding licenses expire.
EPC’s Docker-based architecture enables flexible customization and seamless integration with existing IT environments. It also provides API access for automation and supports integration with external tools such as SIEM systems.
While EPC does not have a dedicated mobile app, it can be accessed through the EnGenius Cloud To-Go app when a Connect License is enabled.
While EnGenius Cloud is a fully cloud-based platform, EPC delivers on-premises control with optional cloud integration. EPC is well suited for organizations that require stronger data sovereignty or must meet specific compliance requirements, while still benefiting from advanced and flexible network management capabilities.
